The food pantry at Together We Cope

The food pantry is a mainstay of Together We Cope and ensures that no client goes hungry. We purchase food from the Greater Chicago Food Depository and continuously receive food donations from generous local businesses, restaurants, grocery stores, and community members.

We also receive food from drives organized by students, individuals, churches, schools, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and the Boy Scouts of America—which helps to keep our shelves stocked during lean months. If you or your organization would like to host a food drive for Together We Cope please contact Gordon Collins at 708-633-5040.

Small sizes are better than large.

Food distribution
bil-005The pantry distributes food to registered clients of Together We Cope from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; and from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursdays. We are closed on Saturdays. Clients are allowed one food pick-up per month. The amount of food given to a family is based on the number of persons in the household. Persons who live outside of our service area are allowed one bag of emergency food and are also provided with the location of food pantries that service their area of residence. To become a registered TWC food pantry client call 708-633-5040.

Public awareness
School groups, youth groups, and others are encouraged to request a brief tour of our pantry—to see it in operation, or to request an informative off-site presentation given by our pantry manager. Contact Gordon Collins at 708-633-5040 or by e-mail at [Request a tour of TWC Pantry].
