Food Pantry The food pantry is a mainstay of Together We Cope and ensures that no client goes hungry. We purchase food from the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and continuously receive food donations from generous local businesses, restaurants, grocery stores, and community members. We also receive help from food drives organized by local churches, schools, and Scouts—to keep our shelves stocked with the staples of life. The pantry is staffed by a large group of volunteers led by three licensed food handlers. If you or your organization would like to organize a food drive for TWC please contact Tina Kessens at 708-633-5040. Volunteers are always welcome to work a few hours a week in the food pantry. If you would like to volunteer please schedule an interview by clicking here.
Pantry Staples Donations of the following staples are always needed at the pantry: peanut butter and jelly, pasta and noodles; beans, cereals, canned meats, canned tuna, canned soups, Ramen soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, spaghetti sauce, and rice in one-pound packages.
