All about Together We Cope
Together We Cope (TWC) is a private, not-for-profit group of neighbors working to help other neighbors in need. Our intrinsic goal is to treat all persons with dignity and respect; that the hierarchy of needs (food, clothing, shelter) are met and enhanced by second stage services; to offer caring, quality services to improve the quality of life for those in need. Our funding is received from donations, concerned individuals, groups, organizations, foundations and businesses, It is also received from governmental sources, the United Way and the Sensible Resale Shoppe.
During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007 Together We Cope provided services to families and individuals, at the risk of becoming homeless, over 72,973 times. Over 20,000 individuals, including victims of domestic violence and those currently homeless, received food, clothing, financial assistance and referral information. During 2006-2007 TWC provided:
Financial Assistance - $181,039
Clothing Program - $86,081
Food Program - 273 tons of food
Back to School Program - 579 children served with supplies - $49,324
Holiday Program - Thansgiving Food Baskets, Christmas gifts, Easter Baskets and food
Referrals - 20,666
Volunteer Hours - approx. 20,500 hours
A wide variety of programs are offered free of charge by Together We Cope to meet each families specific needs.
